Endlich wieder ein Natural Filterkaffee aus México! Von der Finca Los Carriles kam dieser Kaffee per Segelschiff nach Hamburg – Nachhaltigkeit auf soziale und ökologische Art. Der Kaffee schmeckt gebrüht nach Zartbitterschokolade und bringt beerige Noten von Brom- und Blaubeere mit und hat auch eine leicht würzige Seite von Zimt und Zeder. somos café war seit Gründung teil des Segelschiffprojekts und die erste Basler Rösterei, die Segelschiffkaffee aus Direct Trade angeboten hatte.

La Mezcla de Los Tres - México & Guatemala Blend

This blend is set to become an all-rounder and is already turning people's heads in Basel! The blend is made up of 1/3 Monte Albán, 1/3 Los Volcanes and 1/3 Soconusco. It has lots of nutty, chocolate and woody notes. Depending on how it is prepared, you can detect slight dark fruit notes from the Los Volcanes coffee, but it has very little acidity and all the more body. The strong side comes from the dry-processed Soconusco Robusta, which is grown in organic quality in Chiapas. The Arabica from Oaxaca, marketed under the Monte Albán label, also grows in organic quality. Its hazelnut and chocolate flavors could not be missing in this blend. Los Volcanes has body, nougat and these sometimes slightly dark fruits. All in all, it is a classic coffee that is slightly reminiscent of the last Italian vacation thanks to its strong Robusta, but is by no means boring. Italian but reinterpreted, tradition from young hands - a pleasure for the whole group without stealing the show from the host.

Guatemala la Quebrada

Match! A filter coffee that perfectly complements the somos coffee range and will hopefully soon enchant your morning. It has a milk chocolate base with a touch of malt. As malty as Ovomaltine cookies. Notes of cassis and grapefruit are layered on top. The sweetness and the acidity, which reminds me of grapefruit, make it very lively and complex to drink. The size of the beans is very exciting: this is the Pacamara variety, a cross between Paca and Maragogype - it is rare to have such large beans in the grinder.

Monte Albán, Vazquez & Lopez

The Vazquez and Lopez families are united under the Monte Albán label. An organically produced coffee from Mexico, more precisely from the state of Oaxaca. This medium roast tastes of hazelnut and chocolate, has a pleasant sweetness reminiscent of cane sugar and a lighter body. A light to medium acidity enters the cup, with a clear citrus note. Very pleasant and smooth as a cappuccino, but even better as a flat white. This is where the Nutella side really comes into its own. For me, this is also a coffee that is extremely enjoyable black as a Doppio or extended à la Americano (Méxicano).

Monte Albán Decaf

Monte Albán but without caffeine, don't let the moonlight keep you awake. Enjoy a really good coffee no matter what time it is. An organically produced coffee from Mexico, decaffeinated with Mexican mountain water. I deliberately don't roast this Decaf too hard. As a result, it has really delicious flavors of milk chocolate, cane sugar and slightly spicy notes reminiscent of nutmeg. The coffee has a medium acidity, which makes it lively and it even tastes delicious as a pour-over! The label has deliberately been given a "special" touch. This makes DECAF stand out from other coffees. The white dot symbolizes the moonlight that sometimes accompanies you on a sleepless night - don't worry, this coffee will let you sleep

Jaguara Summer

Jaguara Summer stands for a Brazilian espresso with a real summer character, soft, round and pleasantly accessible. The Yellow Bourbon variety comes from the Jaguara Farm in Minas Gerais, grows at an altitude of around 1040 meters and is processed naturally. This creates a juicy, sweet taste with nuances of orange, ripe cherry and fine milk chocolate and praline. Behind the coffee is a multi-award-winning farm that attaches great importance to sustainable cultivation and consistently high quality. With a cup score of 83.25, Jaguara Summer can be used in a variety of ways, particularly in espresso, but also in cappuccino or other milk drinks thanks to its balance and easy extraction. It is roasted fresh in Horgen on Lake Zurich. The result is exactly the profile that characterizes Beanwatch, clear in its fruitiness, harmonious in its sweetness and with a pleasantly chocolaty depth.

Lange Erlen

A 100% Arabica from Rwanda, which we bought directly from Somaho Specialty Coffee. This washed Red Bourbon impresses with its fruity sweetness and is the perfect companion for mixed milk drinks or as a fruity-sweet espresso. The green coffee is "Jarama Lot 51" from the producer Kivubelt Coffee. Jarama Lot 51 coffee comes from a Kivubelt coffee farm located at 1700 and 1900 meters above sea level. Six permanent employees and around 200 workers work at Jarama during the harvest season. The coffee is picked by hand in April and May, processed wet, dried in the sun on so-called African beds and then stored in a well-ventilated warehouse in Jarama CWS. (Source: somaho.ch)

This espresso roast is a 100% Arabica that was organically grown in Brazil by the "APAS Coffee" cooperative. The natural coffee tastes chocolaty, nutty and has a full-bodied flavor with mild acidity. A simple and uncomplicated coffee for anyone who prefers less acidity in their coffee. The raw beans come from controlled organic cultivation. Roasting takes place in our non-certified nano roastery.

On the traditional finca La Buena Esperanza in El Salvador, founded in 1924 by Amalia de Quintanilla and now run by her great-grandson Andrés, three fine varieties grow on iron-rich clay soils and under the protection of avocado and citrus trees: the strong Pacamara with its dark spice, the floral Bourbon Rosado with its rare elegance and the balanced Bourbon Tekisic. Fully washed and processed, they unfold their clear, multi-layered bouquet - from mineral depth to fine fruity freshness. Jointly composed by wild camper Tom Utiger, master of the wilderness, and coffee sommelier Willy Zemp, this blend is reminiscent of a fine wine: rich, lively and with character. Every sip carries the taste of freedom, fire smoke, mountains and streams.

El Mundo del Cafe

The name of this coffee alone is a reason for amusement. However, do not confuse it with the Japanese Geisha. This Ethiopian wild coffee got its name because it was first discovered in the area surrounding Mount Gesha in Ethiopia. The plants were highly resistant to coffee rust. Otherwise, however, they were almost impossible to cultivate, which is why they were rarely planted. This variety only became known worldwide in 2005 due to its exceptional taste qualities.

Brasil Harpy

The fruity, natural sweetness of this blend of 100% Arabica beans is dangerously tempting. It is matured in old Bordeaux barrels and its irresistible appeal comes from the "Bourbon Amarelo" and "Catucai 785" varieties. The family business Fazenda Dutra produces the erotic aroma of the Brasil Harpy Crema using the rare "Pulped Natural" method. This gives the coffees their open-hearted, balanced and delightful bouquet. Watch out!

Old Oak 1583

The coffee perfume of the Rare Old Oak seduces you with the grandeur of a nobleman. 100% Sarchimor Arabica - matured in a PX sherry whisky barrel - lends the Single Estate Sarchimor 1583 its majestic and dignified elegance. "Sarchimor" comes from a cross between the "Timor Hybrid" and the Costa Rican "Villa Sarchi" varieties. Tomas Edelmann Blass tends the precious bean on the casco of the Single Estate Chiripa of Finca Hamburgo, 850 meters above sea level, in the shade of the ginger trees. After maturing in PX sherry whisky barrels, the coffee beans develop a noble sherry-whisky fruity note. Rare Old Oak is an invitation to an unforgettable pleasure.
